Today, 11/14/2021, I, Frank Angelone, Vice-Chair of the Committee of Crumpeteers and Senate Americano member propose a bill in the Committee of Crumpeteers seeking co-sponsorship from the Chair entitled HTR (House of Tea-Reps) 1 – Non-Medicinal Flavor Tea Act 2021.
On 11/12/2021, I consumed the Celestial Black Cherry tea but had previously inhaled its aroma at an earlier date. My initial thoughts were that it smelled of cough medicine and appeared undesirable. However, black cherry is a flavor I find enjoyable so I deemed it worth giving a try.
Upon consumption, I can concur that the smell wasn’t as potent as initially thought which can be due to the length of steeping, I found the taste to resemble that of Luden’s cough drops. While the flavor brought back nostalgic memories of my childhood with my grandmother, I find a tea should not resemble that of cough medicine.
I hereby propose the following legislative statute to address this inconsistency with tea consumption in the Congress of Crumpets and with the hope that the House of Tea-Reps will deem it necessary to support this bill to be filed as official legislation.
- A tea that has an aroma of medicinal flavor or scent should not be reviewed in the House of Tea-Reps.
- A ban of medicinally flavored tea should be banned from the Congress of Crumpets.
- A ban of a medicinally flavored tea does not act as a vessel of disregard for the brand as a whole that produced this aroma of tea.
- A ban of medicinally flavored tea should be banned from the Congress of Crumpets.
- Flavored tea is not banned or disallowed for review under this bill.
- If a surplus of medicinally flavored tea as defined and designated by the Congress of Crumpets is available, it may be passed along to someone else whether they be a constituent of the Congress of Crumpets or outside of this jurisdiction.
- Other brands discovered that are of the medicinal flavor may be added to the ban list under this bill as long as there is the votes necessary to ratify said bill.
- The first official brand of medicinally flavored tea banned under this bill is Celestial Black Cherry.
- The Celestial brand is not outright banned as a whole just the subset of the brand.
- The first official brand of medicinally flavored tea banned under this bill is Celestial Black Cherry.
I stand behind the outlined points and seek approval to pass this bill in the Committee of Crumpeteers.
